During 2009, twenty provider offices and clinics participated in our Well Adolescent Provider Outreach Incentive Program. This program offers providers a $20 cash incentive for each comprehensive annual exam given to adolescents 12-21 years of age. Members also receive an incentive of either two free AMC movie tickets or a $15 gift card to iTunes, Walgreens, or Ross. Along with the movie tickets or a gift card, each member’s name is entered into a raffle to win either a laptop or an iPod Nano.

As always, we are aiming for excellence and have identified teen health as an area for improvement. Our goal in 2009 was to raise the current 52.4% Well Adolescent rate closer to the Medicaid 90th percentile rate of 56.7%. The raffle, member incentives, and provider incentives for the Well Adolescent program will continue on this year in hopes of reaching the 90th percentile.
