Access Regulations in Effect by January 2011
The Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) passed new regulations for improving access to primary, urgent, and specialty care. Providers must comply with this regulation starting January 2011.

Seniors and Persons With Disabilities Informational Webinars
The State of California has approved the mandatory enrollment of seniors and persons with disabilities (SPDs) into managed Medi-Cal beginning in June 2011. San Francisco Health Plan wants to ensure that SPDs continue receiving high quality care and we want to partner with you in achieving this.

Practice Improvement Program: Partnering to Prepare for the Future
The Practice Improvement Program (PIP) launched in January of 2011 with the goal of rewarding systems improvement and driving better quality outcomes in ambulatory care. PIP was designed to help our network prepare for the upcoming opportunities and challenges involved in implementing health care reform and enrolling Seniors and Persons with Disabilities into managed care.

Diabetes Day Success at Southeast and Maxine Hall!
Diabetes is a disease that affects over 2,000 SFHP members. It’s more than our patients’ concern; it’s a disease that requires constant vigilance on the part of you, our medical partners, and team work by all staff who support SFHP patients. SFHP is proud to congratulate two clinics that did exceptional work to expand services for SFHP members with diabetes who are due for screening services.

Improving pediatric oral health
California’s elementary school children have extremely high cavity rates and are in need of dental care. The reported cavity rates of Caucasian school children in the state are 48% and Latino school children are at 72%. Cavities can lead to decayed teeth which effects a child’s ability to eat, sleep, and learn. Poor oral health early on can lead to a lifetime of dental, social, and other health issues*. 2010 Provider Satisfaction Survey
As the 2010 calendar year came to a close, San Francisco Health Plan distributed Provider Satisfaction Surveys to all of its Primary Care Physicians. Each provider who completed the survey received a $5 Starbuck’s gift card and was entered in a raffle to win a $150 American Express gift card.
