Operations Analyst

San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) has an opening for an Operations Analyst within our I.T. Department.  This position will work with the I.S. Operations staff on various tasks, including working with our Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Great Plains) accounting system to ensure the technical billing operations are completed successfully.

Under general supervision, candidate will be responsible for daily operational data processing tasks, researching eligibility and billing data issues, and supporting both internal and external customers.  This position will participate as a team member in the analysis, definition, testing, and implementation of processing systems, and do related work as required.

The operations analyst will be responsible for:

  • Daily operations including eligibility processing, reporting and billing functions
  • Research and analyze all billing issues related to Healthy San Francisco participants
  • Assist Testing and implement new interfaces, transactions, and application flows to solve business problems
  • Assists in managing and supporting existing interfaces and processes to ensure proper information flow
  • Responsible for ensuring that production issues are escalated appropriately and procedures are maintained and properly executed, including development, change requests, and enterprise integration projects
  • Assists member services with all member inquiries related to data issues
  • Assists claims with claims inquiries related to system issues

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) with 2+ years of IT experience.
  • Knowledge of the Health Care or Insurance industry, and the general business processes in healthcare and how they affect an organization. 
  • General accounting knowledge
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Great Plains).
  • Two to four years experience with relational databases structure and multiple ways to get data from them.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to detect and report on data errors and anomalies.
  • Minimum of two years of SQL query and manipulation.
  • Minimum of two years reporting experience with Excel, MS Access Reporting Tools, Crystal Reports or similar reporting tool.
  • Strong general computer skills including Microsoft Office and Windows/NT environment required.
  • Excellent data presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to independently manage projects in a detail-oriented fashion.
  • Ability to present verbally and in writing research analysis, statistical and database concepts in a clear, understandable manner to non-technical people.
