Provider Relations Coordinator    

San Francisco Health Plan has an opening for a Provider Relations Coordinator, housed within its Medical Management department. The Provider Relations Coordinator will function as part of a five-member team, primarily in an administrative capacity. Opportunities to work on quality improvement and community outreach projects are periodically available, contingent upon departmental needs and the specific interests of the selected candidate. Key roles performed by the Provider Relations Coordinator include the following:

  • Schedules, prepares materials, records, and distributes minutes for all provider outreach visits as they occur, bi-weekly Provider Visit Coordination
  • Meetings, quarterly Medical Group meetings, and other departmental events as required.
  • Works closely with the Clinical Programs Manager to implement preventive adolescent health outreach and co-represents San Francisco Health Plan at quarterly Adolescent Health Working Group Steering Committee meetings.
  • Assists with the data collection from providers and clinics for surveys and state initiated regulatory compliance requests,
  • Regularly collaborates with the Marketing department to update the provider section of our website, maintain community resource guides, refine the
  • Provider Relations Database, and produce quarterly provider newsletters.
  • Maintains the provider site visit calendar, ensures documentation of site visit outcomes in the Provider Relations Database, and generates qualitative reports on a monthly basis.
  • Assists the Provider Relations Director in designing the annual Provider Satisfaction Survey. Conducts data entry of survey responses and follows-up on resultant comments and requests.
  • Updates and maintains the provider materials library and departmental policies and procedures as required.
  • Serves as the primary contact for incoming Provider Relations calls, assisting providers with issues ranging from billing and eligibility to educational materials and website access.
  • This is an excellent position in which recent college graduates or experienced administrative assistants can learn about the not-for-profit healthcare industry.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strongly detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with multiple departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (spoken and written) with internal and external parties.
  • Computer competency in using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, and Excel. Familiarity with databases such as ACCESS a plus.
  • BA/BS in Social Sciences, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual written and verbal skills in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, or Vietnamese.
  • Experience in a health care field and familiarity with basic medical terminology and concepts.
