Pharmacy Services

When you need medication, your doctor will prescribe it.  To get the medication:

  • Take the doctor's prescription to a participating pharmacy.
  • Show your San Francisco Health Plan Member ID Card.
  • Pay a small co-pay.

What is a "co-pay"?
A co-pay is the amount of money you pay for prescription medicine.  As a Healthy Kids member, your prescription co-pay for brand name and generic drugs is usually $5.  Refer to the Healthy Kids Summary of Benefits for more information on your prescription drug benefits.

If you want to see if your prescription medicine is covered, refer to the San Francisco Health Plan Drug Formulary.  For more information on our formulary, or to see if a specific drug is covered under your Healthy Kids membership, email Member Services, or give us a call at (800)288-5555, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.

What is a drug formulary?
A drug formulary is a complete list drugs available to you as a San Francisco Health Plan Healthy Kids Program member.
