How to Keep Your Coverage

Providers for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

As an In-Home Support Services (IHSS) worker, once you've enrolled in the Healthy Workers program, there is no need to re-enroll.  You may keep your health insurance through Healthy Workers, unless you've been unemployed as an IHSS worker for three consecutive months.

For more information on Healthy Workers enrollment or program eligibility, call the IHSS Public Authority at (415) 243-4477.

Healthy Workers whose coverage under the IHSS group contract has ended may be eligible for Individual Conversion Coverage. Please see the Individual Conversion Coverage Benefits Matrix for a full description of when you may be eligible for individual coverage, and a description of the costs associated with this coverage. If you have trouble opening this link, please call (800)288-5555.

Temporary, exempt as-needed employees of the City and County of San Francisco

As a temporary employee of the City and County of San Francisco, once you've enrolled in the Healthy Workers program, your coverage will continue each benefit period as long as you meet eligibility criteria.

For more information on Healthy Workers enrollment, program eligibility or continuing coverage once you are no longer eligible, call the Department of Human Resources at (415) 557-4942.
