On July 16, 2014, San Francisco Health Plan held the GGHI Network’s 6th Annual Stronger Bridges to Health Forum. The event was entitled Crossing New Bridges in Health Coverage: Expecting the Unexpected in Health Care Reform.
This past year we experienced bumps in the road towards our effort to enroll San Franciscans in new health coverage options made available through Health Care Reform. Despite this, application assistors, enrollment counselors, and numerous organizations adapted as needed to successfully enroll thousands of San Franciscans into Medi-Cal and Covered California.
We wanted to continue that momentum!
Health Care Reform expanded health coverage outreach, education and the enrollment community. It also changed how our communities view health coverage enrollment and access to health care. What has not changed is that our communities continue to rely on you for guidance and support.
The Stronger Bridges to Health Forum this past July 2014, provided participants with the knowledge to help them continue to be a resource to their communities.
A special thanks to all of our speakers who helped make this event possible.
Below, you can download the presentations provided at the conference. Please note the following presentations are not for consumer use and are for informational purposes for the 2014 Stronger Bridges to Health Forum.
Morning Plenary Panel: Preparing for Round Two of Enrollment
- Learning & Utilizing Health Coverage Benefits
- Covered CA: Growing Pains and Successes
- 50 Shades of Medi-Cal
- Health Coverage in San Francisco for Residually Uninsured
The Stronger Bridges to Health Forum is an information and resource fair for community health coverage resource navigators who connect the uninsured to health coverage. Participants have the opportunity to network with one another and participate in workshops aimed at improving their understanding of public health coverage programs, how to refer to them, and other topics. For application assistors (which include HSF assistors, Covered California Counselors, etc) other topics will aim at strengthening their eligibility and screening skills and build their enrollment assistance abilities. The event is sponsored by San Francisco Health Plan and is made available to participants at no cost.
