Healthy Kids HMO

Healthy Kids HMO is a health insurance program for children who can’t get other publicly funded insurance programs. The County Children’s Health Initiative Program, also called CCHIP, is a part of the Healthy Kids HMO program in San Francisco.

On October 1, 2019, your child’s health insurance will move from Healthy Kids HMO program (CCHIP) to the Medi-Cal program.

  1. Your child will continue to have health, vision, and dental insurance. Your child’s health plan will not change.

  2. San Francisco Health Plan will still provide your child’s health and vision care after the move to the Medi-Cal program. Your child can continue to see their primary care doctor.
  3. Your child will get dental insurance from the Medi-Cal Dental program after October 1, 2019.
