Pharmacy Services & Find a Pharmacy
When you need medication, your doctor will prescribe it. To get the medication:
- Take the doctor’s prescription to a participating pharmacy
- Show your San Francisco Health Plan member ID Card
- Pay a small co-pay
What is a “co-pay”?
A co-pay is the amount of money you pay for prescription medicine. As a Healthy Kids HMO member, your prescription co-pay for brand name and generic drugs is usually $10 or $15. See the Evidence of Coverage for details on the program benefits and limits. Refer to the Healthy Kids HMO Summary of Benefits for more information on your prescription drug benefits.
This glossary of health coverage and medical terms has many commonly used terms, but isn’t a full list. These glossary terms and definitions are intended to be educational and may be different from the terms and definitions in your plan.
If you want to see if your prescription medicine is covered, refer to the San Francisco Health Plan Drug Formulary. For more information on our formulary, or to see if a specific drug is covered under your Healthy Kids HMO membership, email Customer Service, or give us a call at 1(800) 288-5555, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.
