How to Keep Your Coverage

As a Healthy Kids HMO member, you’ll need to renew your health coverage each year. All children enrolled in the Healthy Kids HMO program must schedule an in-person appointment to renew their coverage.

PLEASE NOTE: New Medi-Cal rules may change your child’s health coverage choices. Medi-Cal is California’s Medicaid program. It provides health care at no or low cost. Your child may be eligible for full Medi-Cal benefits depending upon your income, no matter what your child’s immigration status is. If your child is able to join Medi-Cal, they are no longer eligible for the Healthy Kids HMO program.

There are three easy steps to renew your Healthy Kids HMO membership
  1. Watch for a renewal letter 60 days before your health insurance is set to end. It will come to you in the mail from San Francisco Health Plan.
  2. Set up an in person appointment by calling us at 1(415) 777-9992, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.
  3. Arrive at the SFHP Service Center 15 minutes before your appointment time. The Service Center is located at 7 Spring Street in San Francisco.

If you don’t get your renewal letter in the mail 60 days from when your health insurance will end, call us right away at 1(800) 288-5555.
