All people over 6 months old can get the updated COVID-19 vaccine

You and your family can now get the updated COVID-19 vaccine with your primary care provider* (PCP)! This vaccine can better protect against virus strains that are making people sick this winter. COVID-19 vaccines also lower your chances of having Long COVID (symptoms that last longer).

As of September 12, 2023, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends:

  • Everyone ages 5 years and older get 1 dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine.
  • People with weakened immune systems may get 1+ dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Kids 6 months to 4 years old can get the vaccine. Please talk with your PCP about how many doses your child may need.

Please talk with your PCP if you have any questions or concerns about getting the COVID-19 vaccine. If you had COVID-19 recently, wait 3 months until you get the vaccine.

  • Count 3 months from when symptoms started.
  • If you had no symptoms, count from when you first got a positive test.
