How to Qualify for and Enroll in Medi-Cal

The first step to enrolling with San Francisco Health Plan is to see if you or your child qualifies for any of our programs. To figure out which program is right, we’ll ask a few questions about family income, age, San Francisco residency and in some cases, student or parental status. See Medi-Cal household income guidelines.

The SFHP Service Center is a place where you can go get information on health care access options that are available for you and your family. Our Enrollment Team is available, by appointment, to provide assistance with your Medi-Cal application.

The SFHP Service Center continues to provide the highest quality enrollment services for you and your family. During this challenging time of COVID-19, we are doing everything we can to meet the health care needs of San Franciscans – we’re just doing it all by phone rather than in person.

Our Enrollment Team offers information and application assistance for Medi-Cal and other programs. Please be aware that because many other enrollment sites in San Francisco have closed and are not offering phone appointments, demand for SFHP Service Center is extremely high right now.
