Starting January 1, 2022, the pharmacy benefit for SFHP members is provided by Medi-Cal Rx. This changes the way many of your pharmacy services are provided and funded but does not change your Medi-Cal eligibility or benefits.

At your visit, let your doctor know at which network pharmacy you want to pick up your medicines.

To get your medicines show your SFHP Member ID Card or your Medi-Cal Benefits Identification Card (BIC) to the pharmacy staff. Medi-Cal members do not pay money for medicines covered under their pharmacy benefit.

At medi-calrx.dhcs.ca.gov, you can find more information about your pharmacy benefit. You can view the most up-to-date Medi-Cal Rx formulary and see if your medication is in it. You can see if your medication needs prior authorization or step therapy. You can find important forms and search for a pharmacy. There is also a list of commonly asked questions. To send in your own questions, you can register in the Medi-Cal Rx Beneficiary Portal to email or chat.
