Signs You Might Have the Flu
Flu season is here, and it can make you feel sick fast. If you’re feeling off, here’s how to tell if it might be the flu. Watch for:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Body aches
- Headache
- Feeling very tired
- Throwing up or diarrhea (more common in kids)

Skip the Long Wait: Quick Ways to Get Care
When you’re sick with the flu, you want care right away. Good news: as an SFHP member, you have quick and easy ways to get the care you need. These options are part of your plan benefits, at no cost to you:
Nurse Advice Line: Talk to a nurse anytime, day or night. Call if you’re not sure whether you need to see a doctor, if your symptoms get worse, or if you have questions about feeling better at home. Call 1(877) 977-3397.
Teladoc: Talk to a provider by phone or video when your PCP isn’t available. Good for colds, flu, vomiting, diarrhea, and other simple health problems. Visit teladoc.com/sfhp or call 1(800) 835-2362.
Urgent Care: Go to an urgent care center if your PCP isn’t available and you want to be seen in person. Good for cold, flu, fever, infections, and stomach problems. Where you can go depends on your medical group:
