As you are already aware, Medi-Cal renewal rules have recently changed. It’s extremely important that San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) members renew their Medi-Cal coverage in a timely manner so they don’t lose access to the care they need. Please remind your patients to watch for their renewal packet in the mail and submit it by their due date.

SFHP members can easily renew their Medi-Cal coverage in one of three ways:

  • Online at BenefitsCal.com.
  • This website is the fastest and easiest way for members to update their information and renew their coverage.

  • In person or over the phone at the SFHP Service Center.
  • The SFHP Service Center is open to all SF residents, and can help people renew and enroll in Medi-Cal. To make an appointment, members can visit sfhp.org/service-center.

  • Over the phone with the SF Medi-Cal Office.
  • Members can call the San Francisco Medi-Cal Office directly to renew their coverage at 1(855) 355-5757 (toll-free).

If your SFHP patients have questions about renewing or need support, SFHP Customer Service can help. Members can call SFHP Customer Service at 1(415) 547-7800, 1(800) 288-5555 (toll-free), or 711 (TTY), Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.
