Your primary care provider (PCP) is your main doctor. They should always be your first call to get care. But what happens when you can’t visit your PCP?

How to Set Up Your Teladoc Account

Ready to get no-cost, online care? There are two things you need to do to get started:

Register with Teladoc®
You can register one of these 3 easy ways:

  • Visit Teladoc’s website. Register online at teladoc.com/sfhp.
  • Download the Teladoc® mobile app and register in 4 easy steps:
    1. Download Teladoc from the App Store or Google Play
    2. Open the app and tap “Register”
    3. Enter basic contact information to check your eligibility
    4. Create your account and start getting care with Teladoc
  • Call Teladoc® at 1(800) 835-2362. Do you speak a language other than English? Call Teladoc to sign up. They can help you in the language you speak.
Fill Out Your Health History

To finish signing up for Teladoc, fill out your past health information. You must fill this out before you talk to a Teladoc doctor. Make sure to update it each year.

Teladoc doctors will check your past health information before your visit. This helps them give you the best care.

How to Schedule a Visit

With Teladoc, you can talk to doctors who speak your language 24/7.

To schedule a visit:

  1. Log in to your account at teladoc.com/sfhp or open the Teladoc mobile app
  2. Click the “Request a Visit” button
  3. Answer questions about your health needs
  4. Call Teladoc if you need help
    • If you have any issues or questions, you can always call 1(800) 835-2362 for help scheduling a visit.

Rights of Healthy Workers HMO Members

Are you an SFHP Healthy Workers HMO member? When you get care through Teladoc, you have rights:

  • You have the right to access your medical records.
  • SFHP must share the records of any telehealth services provided through Teladoc® with your PCP unless you object. If you do not want Teladoc to share records with your PCP, call Teladoc at 1(800) 835-2362. You also have the right to access these records.
  • All services you get with Teladoc are available at the same cost as an in-network provider. All cost sharing will accrue to the out-of-pocket maximum.

If available, you can get services in person or through telehealth from your in-network provider. SFHP must provide these services to you in a timely manner. Check your Member Handbook to learn more.


What Kind of Care Do I Need?

Not sure what to do or what kind of care you need?

Call the Nurse Advice Line first. You can talk to a registered nurse 24/7 in the language you speak.

They can help you if:

  • You are not sure whether to see your doctor, Teladoc, or go to urgent care or the ER
  • You have questions about symptoms, medications, or next steps
  • You need advice to start feeling better at home
